Fast of the Firstborn

7:30am | Shacharit/Morning Service, In-person only, Beth El joins us at Chisuk Emuna for this special service, followed by a siyyum (a celebration marking a completion of Torah study) and a seudat mitzvah, a special meal. This practice developed especially for firstborns in order to exempt them from fasting in commemoration of the deliverance from Egypt.

Please note that the fire station on Sixth Street is providing a fire pit for members of the Jewish community to fulfill this mitzvah between 10 am-Noon on Friday.

Please note that our kiddush/lunch this Shabbat will begin at approximately 10:15 am, before the Torah service. The kiddush is early this Shabbat because on the eve of Passover this year, we must finish eating chametz by 10:56 am and dispose of the remaining chametz by 12:02 pm.

Please note: due to the restrictions of the holiday, there will be no Zoom of Havdalah. A modified version of havdalah is part of the Haggadah.

Passover ends at 8:31 pm. Chametz can be eaten and allowed to be brought back after 9:00 pm.
