"Preparing for Passover: Let's Explore Selections from the Haggadah and Mishnah"
Rabbi Ilyse Kramer, Instructor; Wed., March 25, 2020 (11am-12:15pm)
In this session, we will continue to explore a selection of texts primarily from the perspective of First Century, CE Jewish communities in Jerusalem and the Galilee. We will read about the teachings of Rabban Gamliel and later Rabbis, who, over the ages, help craft the layers and layers of tradition that come to comprise the Passover Seder we are most familiar "telling around the table" today. Focus question for the session: From the perspective of the Bible (Exodus chapters in particular) which focuses on the importance of "Eating the Pascal Sacrifice," how do our seder celebrations at home become (over the ages) Pesach/Passover? Hint: "Eating our Narrative" is the first clue! ... All are welcome to join us by zoom or by phone.
