The Circle of Life: Exploring the connection between birth and death in Rabbinic text
with Rabbi Ariana Capptauber via Zoom
Wednesdays July 1st and 8th
11:00 am - 12:15 pm
On Rosh Hashanah we celebrate the birth of the world, and on Yom Kippur we recall our mortality and remember those who have died. What is the connection between these themes? Birth and death appear to be opposites, but perhaps we could imagine them as more connected, part of a continuum. In this two part course we will look at rabbinic texts on birth and death and explore the connection between these seemingly opposite poles-- in the rabbis' minds and in our own.
RSVP to Patty at Beth El Temple, firstname.lastname@example.org, to receive study materials for these sessions.

Pay - lamed - lamed is the Hebrew root word of "prayer". The word palel means to pray for, or to believe possible. As part of our listening and learning sessions, we heard that people wanted a "Hebrew School for Adults", to deepen their participation in prayer services, including minyan, and to be able to lead services. This hour of learning is our first project. We're excited to grow with you.
